The lights come up, the music kicks in, and a two-time Paralympic gold medalist steps onto the ballroom floor for the very first time.

For anyone who has followed his career, the moment felt familiar. Ezra has spent his whole life walking into new arenas and making them his own.

A Champion in the Making

Ezra was born in Los Angeles in 2005 with congenital limb differences, and his left leg was amputated above the knee when he was a young child. He was running on his first blades by age four. Soon after, he was playing soccer and basketball and running track.

That early love of sport grew into a world-class career. At the Tokyo Paralympic Games, a teenage Ezra finished fifth in the high jump, a result he has called one of the hardest moments of his life.

So he went back to work.

Paris: Two Golds in Two Days

Before the Paris Games, Ezra started a 100-day countdown on social media to winning gold.

On day 99, he won the 100m T63. He came from behind and leaned at the line to take a photo finish by two hundredths of a second. He had been treating the race as a warm-up for his main event.

The next day, he won that one too. In the high jump, Ezra cleared 1.94 meters for a new Paralympic record, 14 centimeters higher than his jump in Tokyo.

A New Kind of Stage

This fall, Ezra traded the track for sequins and choreography. He is the first Paralympian to compete on Dancing with the Stars since Danelle Umstead in 2018, and he has shared how much it means to represent the disabled community on such a visible stage.

Week after week, he and Daniella have kept the ballroom on its feet. After that opening tango came a high-energy cha-cha that had judge Carrie Ann Inaba calling out, “What the Frech!”

Learning to dance is a whole new kind of training. Every week brings new choreography, long rehearsal days, and a live performance in front of millions. For an elite athlete, the time between those big moments matters just as much as the moments themselves.

Back on Track

With a schedule this full, Ezra keeps a few go-to tools for the days when his energy dips. NanoVi is one of them.

Intense training, travel and long days all create oxidative stress, which puts extra demand on the body’s natural repair processes. NanoVi uses a specific electromagnetic frequency to create a signal in humidified air, supporting the body’s own ability to repair cell damage caused by oxidative stress. Sessions are simple and non-invasive, which makes it easy to build into a busy routine like Ezra’s. Learn more about how NanoVi works.

The Next Leap

The ballroom is one chapter in a much bigger story. Ezra is a Los Angeles native with his sights set on the 2028 Games in his hometown, and through Angel City Sports, the adaptive sports organization he and his father helped build, he keeps showing kids what is possible.

Whether he is clearing a bar, crossing a finish line, or landing a final pose, Ezra keeps finding the next leap. We can’t wait to see where he lands next.
