The International Hyperbaric Medicine Symposium Featured Hans Eng to Learn How Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy is Used with NanoVi® Technology
This year’s hyperbaric oxygen therapy conference once again brought together many disciplines and researchers focused on some of today’s most challenging medical issues. Oxygen therapies used synergistically with other technologies are showing promise in many otherwise intractable areas of health. Because of the benefits of combining therapies, this year’s international hyperbaric conference featured complementary technologies in addition to hyperbarics.
The basic HBOT premise of pressing oxygen into the system dovetails perfectly with Eng3’s approach to improving cellular activity. Hyperbaric O2 can reach otherwise oxygen-starved areas and “turn on” under-utilized systems to get improved results. Eng3’s NanoVi device is often adopted by HBOT centers to improve cellular oxygen utilization to accelerate repair and regeneration.
Eng3’s CEO Hans Eng gave a CME-qualified talk about the role of “ordered water” in cellular function, looking at how ordered water is beneficial in combination with hyperbaric treatments. When either ordered water or oxygen is present in abundance cellular repair is accelerated so combining these therapies further enhances recovery possibilities.
Hans spoke at length about the biochemical and biophysical mechanisms behind the NanoVi approach of influencing cellular water to improve protein folding and function.

In a cell, the proteins are embedded in water. It’s the shift (entropy change) of order from the water to the proteins that enables them to fold. Because oxygen utilization is a protein function, supporting the protein folding process improves the uptake of oxygen. There is no doubt that a broad understanding of the NanoVi process will empower therapists, clinics and physicians (as well as athletes, biohackers and health enthusiasts) to strengthen performance, accelerate recovery, and improve overall wellbeing. Hyperbaric specialists recognize that not everyone is a good fit high-pressure oxygen. NanoVi is an option, and symposium attendees responded well to the concepts Hans presented.

Two NanoVi Exo devices were available for attendees to use during speaker presentations at the symposium. Since NanoVi promotes repair and regeneration, sessions tend to be especially popular at conferences where people often suffer the ill effects of travel, long days, and late nights. A bonus for us was to meet up with customers. It was great to see Chris Dodson who runs three hyperbaric centers in Ohio and a fourth center Florida. Chris has had NanoVi Exo™ devices integrated into his centers for several years. Given the glowing reports we hear from Chris and the results we see, he is clearly getting it right. Centers like his are where athletes and individuals go for a boost. Many hyperbaric centers around the US have added NanoVi Exo™ to their repertoire, boosting athletic recovery and helping clients repair and reenergize. Combining NanoVi with other therapies has seen high success rates, a clear sign that we’re headed in the right direction.

HBOT ’19 presented the ideal forum for engaging with researchers from numerous medical specialties involved with hyperbaric medicine. Hundreds attended and renowned speakers filled the agenda. In addition to medical and veterinary sciences, diverse disciplines such as toxicology, neurology, biophysics, psychology and pharmacology were represented. The symposium was held September 27 – 29 at the Charleston Marriott in South Carolina and counted for 18 continuing medical education credits.
